Sudan holds an important place in the family's history through Laila's ancestry and her grandfather, Zoubeir Rahma Pasha, a prominent figure in nineteenth-century Sudanese history.

The collection includes historical books, photographs, documents and personal possessions, including items belonging to Zoubeir Rahma Pasha himself. It also brings together material reflecting Peter's interest in Sudan's history, culture and people, preserving connections across several generations of the family.
